Six people have been killed as violence continues in Ethiopia’s western region of Benishangul- Gumuz. According to ESAT sources, the attack has also left 50 households displaced.
The new wave of attack in Tepi district of Sheka zone brings the death toll to 48 since the ethnic motivated violence began two weeks ago. But other reports say close to 100 might have been killed since the violence began two weeks ago.
The violence was sparked at the end of September when four officials from Kemashi Zone of Benishangul-Gumuz were killed in the Oromo region. The officials were killed on their way back from a joint security meeting with their counterpart in the Oromo region.Read more>>>
